FIELD: glass industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to layered fire-resistant double-glazing units with internal layer of thermoswelling material. Multi-glazing unit is made from at least two panes with, between them, at least one layer of transparent thermally swelling material based on alkali-earth metal silicate and additives and at least one intermediate adhesive layer being in contact with thermoswelling material layer and made from polymeric photohardening immersion material having refraction index equal to that of thermoswelling material. Method of manufacturing multi-glazing unit comprises applying thermoswelling coating on at least one pane to form "solid gel" and assembling panel, which consists in installing at least two panes in parallel and in spaced relation to each other, followed by fixation and peripheral sealing of the panes. Thereafter, interpane space is filled with polymeric photohardening immersion material being in contact with thermoswelling coating and subjected to UV light. Depending on the number of modules, fire resistance can be 15-120EI. Transmission of visible light achieves 50%.
EFFECT: improved optical properties, heat insulation, and reduced light transmission in case of emergency fire in immediate proximity from multi-glazing unit.
