FIELD: transparent thermoswelling materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed thermoswelling material includes mixture of hydrated silicate of alkali metal and additive selected from polyalcohols and mono- or polysaccharides at content of 5 to 22 mass-% and content of water from 12 to 19 mass-%. Hydrated silicate of alkali metal has molar ratio of silicon oxide to alkali metal oxide more than 3.3.:1.Panels containing this material ensure thermal isolation for more than 30 min and protection against flame and smoke for more than 90 min at thermal radiation lesser than 10 kW/sq m or even 6 kW/sq m in 90 min.
