FIELD: electrical engineering; electrified consists.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for controlling four-square converter that can be used as input converter in force-switched rectifiers of AC consists includes detection of change-over moments of converter diodes by correlation between singe-wave modulating signal and triangular clock signal whose phases are shifted relative to supply voltage through angle depending on supply mains reactance. Signal phase shift is controlled considering variations in supply mains reactance referred to transformer secondary winding found from formula X=Um/(i2-i1)(cosωt1-cosωt2), where Um is maximal voltage across AC voltage supply; t1 and t2 are currents through choke coil at beginning and end of AC supply voltage application thereto, respectively; ω is AC voltage circular frequency; t is time.
EFFECT: enhanced traction drive power characteristics and power factor.
