FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: in the method to control a four-quadrant converter of a unit of pulse-width modulation, control pulses are generated, the specified value of output permanent voltage is formed, and the desired phase shift is established between the first harmonics of current and voltage of a contract system, single-phased voltage in the primary winding of a transformer and current in the secondary winding of transformer are measured. Using observers, they are converted into double-phased vector signals in a fixed system of coordinates. Signals from the observer by voltage are converted with a normaliser into signals of single amplitude, using which, jointly with observer signals by current, with a direct converter of coordinates, active and reactive components of current are calculated in a rotary system of coordinates, control of which is carried out along separate independent channels accordingly by controllers of active and reactive currents, output signals of which jointly with signals of the normaliser by a reverse converter of coordinates, a unit of width-pulse modulation is controlled.

EFFECT: higher energy indices of a traction electric drive of an electric locomotive due to improved accuracy of control of a four-quadrant converter.
