FIELD: converter engineering; power supplies for induction heating installations.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for controlling resonance-tuned inverter with antiparallel diodes operating into load in the form of series oscillatory circuit whose parameters are varying within wide range includes generation of control pulses and their alternate supply to inverter key elements shaping forward and reverse current half-waves in load. Instant value of load current is measured, moments of zero crossing by instant load current is detected, actual mean value of current is calculated and used to choose and generate control pulse trains governing change-over combinations of inverter key elements. Inverter key elements are changed over as soon as instant load current crosses zero and their combinations afford time intervals equal to number N = 1, 2, 3, ... 9 resonance frequency half cycles of load current with power supplied to load with the latter being closed. If measured actual mean value of load current exceeds desired threshold, control pulse trains affording reduction of load energizing interval to load closed state interval ratio are chosen and generated; if actual measured mean value of load current is below desired threshold, control pulse trains affording increase in load energizing interval to load closed state interval ratio are chosen and generated.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability and enlarged functional capabilities for induction heating technology.
