FIELD: rocket manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: nozzle of solid or liquid propellant rocket engine includes combustion chamber and contraction; nozzle performs function of local hydraulic resistance; coefficient of local hydraulic resistance ς is taken from results of tests of water flow through rocket nozzle models and hydraulic resistances: abrupt narrowing-abrupt expansion depending on d2/d1 ratio and Reynolds number Re, where d2 is diameter of cross section of nozzle throat; d1 is diameter of combustion chamber cross section; Re=Vd1/ν, where V is velocity of liquid-and-gas jets to nozzle throat; ν is coefficient of kinematic viscosity of liquid-and-gas jets to nozzle throat.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of calculation of thickness of nozzle wall, rocket nozzle cooling duct and structural parameters of turbo-pump unit for liquid propellant and solid propellant rocket engines.
