FIELD: electrical engineering; high-voltage single-slit arc-control chambers for pneumatic and electromagnetic contactors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed high-voltage arc-control chamber has paired insulating walls incorporating partitions and arc-control devices with smooth zigzag-shaped slit which are relatively alternating on walls to form additional arc-control devices with stepped rectangular slit. Intermediate discontinuous insulating partition is built of two parts, T-shaped poles approximately partially enclose and cover slit area with insulating partitions. Open slot accommodates perforated plate in upper part which can be taken out of this slot without disassembling arc-control chamber. Spring-loaded U-clamp inserted in holes of perforated plate provides for locking the latter in position.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability, breaking capacity, and service life.
