FIELD: manual control and phase-failure protection of three-phase motors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed starter that incorporates provision for monitoring its load current is assembled of three single-contact contactors with current windings whose series-connected contacts interlock one another. Starter has ON-button in phases connected in parallel with contacts and OFF-button connected in series with third contact to afford starting and stopping operations. As an alternative, two contactors have additional cophasal start winding and one contactor is provided with additional antiphase stop winding. As still another alternative, starter has OFF button shorting out third current winding to afford stopping operation (both alternatives of button are illustrated).

EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced reliability of electric motor protection.
