FIELD: geophysics.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises exciting electric field in the substance to be studied with the use of two main and two additional supplying electrodes and measuring primary and nonstationary secondary electric field in the substance by means of receiving electrodes. Each of the additional supplying electrodes are arranged from opposite sides of the main supplying electrodes on the previous and next section of the shape with respect to the main supplying line, respectively, at a distance equal to the length of the supplying line. The measurements of the secondary electric field in the section of the shape inside main supplying line are carried out by setting the middle gradient and external gradient in each half of the section . The parameter of virtual polarization of the substance is determined for each half of the shape section inside the main supplying line from the difference of the measured secondary fields by means of setting the middle gradient and external gradient in the sections.
