FIELD: automatics of electric networks.
SUBSTANCE: in the method current at input of main power source is controlled between input switch and main power source buses, appearance of short circuit current between input switch and buses of main power source is recorded, at the same time value of linear voltages are controlled on buses on the side of main power source, after disabling short circuit current resulting from activation of protection, values of linear voltages on buses are controlled on the side of main power source and, if during passage of current of short circuit linear voltages on buses are below the value at which technological processes of consumers are disrupted which are powered from main or reserve power sources, while after disabling of current of short circuit linear voltages in buses are absent, therefore a conclusion is drawn that short circuit occurred at main power source buses or close short circuit on branching line, and its switch has failed, and in this case forbidding signal is injected.
EFFECT: expanded area of possible use, expanded functional capabilities.
