FIELD: automatic control of power networks. SUBSTANCE: method designed to prevent ON-operation of substation automatic transfer switch depends on comparison of two mode-of-operation conditions of equipment one being no-current interval of automatic-reclosure circuit breaker and other one is time interval between three-phase short-circuit inrush currents which is compared with no-current interval of automatic-reclosure circuit breaker; to this end, short-circuit current at transformer bushing is recorded as soon as all three line voltages disappear; during OFF-operation of automaticreclosure circuit breaker due to operation of protective gear counting of its no-current interval is started and if short-circuit current appears again as soon as counting is ceased, signal inhibiting ON- operation of substation automatic transfer switch is supplied. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities and fields of application of automatic transfer switching centers. 2 dwg
