FIELD: textile engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method involves controlling operation of drawing unit of textile machine, having two drawing cylinders mounted in bearings, pressure cylinder attached to two drawing cylinders, and, when necessary, flattening cylinder engageable with pressure cylinder; driving one of drawing cylinders for rotation without sliding thereof, and rotating other of drawing cylinders by means of friction device comprising smooth drive belt and smooth sheave. One of drawing cylinders is rotated by means of toothed drive belt coming into engagement with gear rigidly connected with said one drawing cylinder. Other drawing cylinder is rotated by means of friction device comprising smooth drive belt, which drives smooth sheave into rotational motion, said smooth sheave being rigidly connected to other drawing cylinder. In case flattening cylinder cooperating with pressure cylinder is used in machine, smooth drive belt is driven into motion directly by means of flattening cylinder. Intermediate sheave is positioned on shaft of flattening cylinder. Tightening of smooth drive belt is provided by means of tightening roller positioned at path of drive belt.

EFFECT: quick dismantling of drawing cylinders, provision for quick repeated mounting thereof, and reduced manufacture costs.
