FIELD: glass melting. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elongated tunnel-type furnaces for heating glass sheets, in particular, tunnel modular-structure kiln for heating glass sheets displaced through it successively on a set of linearly arranged rolls 79. Binding of furnace includes lower section 14 with general rectangular cross-section under rolls and upper section 15 having generally elliptic configuration in its cross-section and being disposed over rolls 79. Upper section 15 of binding may be pulled in vertically by agency of mechanism 57 to facilitate maintenance and replacement of rolls 79. The latter have shafts on their opposite ends with bearings made in such a manner as to be inserted into open upwards wells in plates 85 and be supported therein. Roll-supporting plates 85 are laid along each of two sides of furnace. A gear wheel is fastened to end shaft on one end of each roll 79. The rolls are actuated by groups by means of synchronized belts, their upper flights surrounding gear wheels and being engaged with them. Pressing blocks 104 are supported being adapted to be removed onto roll-supporting plates. EFFECT: improved structure. 18 cl, 6 dwg
