HELICOPTER CREW TRAINER WITH EXTERNAL STORE FLIGHT OPERATOR Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G09B9/46 

FIELD: helicopter crew trainers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed trainer is used for practicing of helicopter crew in handling cargo on external store and simulating for various situations: dropping, swinging and rotating of cargo, breaking lines and forming skill for compensation for unfavorable situations. Proposed trainer includes additionally cargo cabin where external store operator's position is mounted. Proposed trainer is also provided with outside situation simulation unit for external store operator's position. Computer complex of trainer includes programmed module for simulation of action of cargo carried on external store on helicopter. External store operator's position is provided with equipment for control of external store; operator observes cargo on underlying surface background and established voice communication with helicopter pilots by means of voice intercommunication system. Outside situation simulation unit has additional visualization channel for observation of cargo through aperture of cargo cabin side door. Outside situation simulation unit forms stereoimage on screen observed through polaroid glass goggles. Cargo cabin is mounted on movable platform simulating for acceleration effects acting on external store operator.
