FIELD: technology for recording and reproducing multimedia data.
SUBSTANCE: multimedia data carriers contain from two to three levels, each level being stored in files, separated from each other, while first level is meant for storage of multimedia data, second level, on which multimedia data are recorded, divided onto record data and reproduction data, and, described by means of markup language, information of record element attributes and interconnection between each element of record and element of reproduction, third level, storing navigational data. Device for reproduction of multimedia data, stored on multimedia data carrier, contains controller, selecting reproduction elements for reproduction on basis of navigational data, during that it detects position of multimedia data and reproduces them.
