FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: first device receives from second device a certificate, containing open key (UPK) for second device. Then first device authenticates second device as highly protected device after successful check of received certificate by means frequency open key of certification center (CAPK), if open key of certification center is accessible, and authenticates second device as weakly protected device after successful check of received certificate by means of locally accessible open key (SPK). Second device does the same to perform mutual authentication.
EFFECT: after performing mutual authentication, first and second devices may safely set up session keys and exchange data.
