EQUIPPING THE ALUMINUM ELECTROLYZERS WITH THE BUSBARS Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC C25C3/06 C25C3/16

Abstract RU 2295589 C1

FIELD: non-ferrous industry; electrolytic production of aluminum.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the electrolytic production of aluminum and may be used in the designs of the busbars of the powerful electrolyzers with the burnt anodes at their transversal arrangement in the body. The busbars contains the prefabricated cathode buses connected to five equidistant anode uprights with the equal current-loading, which are connected to the anode buses supplied with the jumpers. The prefabricated cathode buses are supplied with the jumpers. At that the extreme prefabricated busbars of the inlet side of the electrolyzer are composed of no less than one pack of the prefabricated buses; the relaying packs of the buses arranged along the butt sides of the electrolyzer and each relaying of 40 % of the current loading of the inlet side are made at the level of the melt of the metal. At that current-loading on the middle anode uprights is made by two relaying packs of the buses connected in the upper part of the uprights, and on the packs relaying the current loading into the central upright and the middle anode uprights there are the sections with the opposite directions of the current flow. The relaying packs of the buses located under the bottom of the electrolyzer may be arranged unsymmetrically with regard to the transverse axis of the electrolyzer, the anode busbars may be made in the form of two current-conducting loops, each of which contains two anode buses rigidly connected by the transversal buses, and the loops may be connected by the jumpers and connected to the central anode upright. The invention ensures reduction to the optimal values of the speeds of the metal and the electrolyte circulation, optimization of the current distribution along the cathode and anode bus busbars.

EFFECT: the invention ensures reduction to the optimal values of the speeds of the metal and the electrolyte circulation, optimization of the current distribution along the cathode and anode bus busbars.
