FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: method of measuring spherical aberration coefficients is based upon illumination of tested optical system of electro-optical detector. System has one or several lenses and diaphragm, quazi-monochromatic source with small angular sizes, which source is disposed at preset distance from electro-optical detector. Electro-optical detector is oriented in such a way that quazi-monochromatic source takes central position in frame. Radius of diaphragm is set at two or more preset values. Radiuses of circles of dissipation are measured at different values of radiuses of diaphragm and coefficients of spherical aberration of electro-optical detector are measured.

EFFECT: reduced complexity of design; widened area of application; higher speed of measurement of spherical aberration coefficient.
