FIELD: welded tube production, namely production of electrically welded double-seam large-diameter finite length tubes from preliminarily shaped semi-cylindrical blanks.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding preliminarily shaped semi-cylindrical blanks to welding mill; assembling them and transporting to inlet and assembling-welding stand. According to invention unit for feeding assembled blanks during welding of lengthwise seam is in the form of doubled rack transmissions whose shaft-pinions are joined through intermediate shafts, cone reduction gears and clutches to common reversing drive with controlled revolution number. Said racks are shortened and they have in their leading ends spring-loaded stops that may be shifted at return motion of racks. Invention completely prevents mutual lengthwise shifting of blanks at process of their mutual technological motion and suppresses vibration of banks at welding due to lengthwise stability of racks.
EFFECT: improved quality of assembling and welding tube blanks, increased useful life period of equipment.
