FIELD: electrical engineering; lead battery manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: in order to ensure reliable sealing of tank-to-lid joint of lead battery lid whose side walls are beveled through 3- 5 deg. is placed into tank to form through slot, tank bottom is covered with easily compressed gasket of foamed polymeric material, and sealing is effected by filling slot under pressure with high-strength shock-resistant adhesive (adhesive strength 90 to 120 kgf/cm2).Proposed method provides for reliable filling of clearance with adhesive avoiding contact between adhesive and electrolyte.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and service life of battery.
