FIELD: optics and glassmaking industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of glasses luminescing when exposed to x-ray irradiation and can be used in control instrumentation, in industrial defectoscopy and intrascopy, and in dosimetric systems based on transmittance and luminescence of various glasses. Task of invention was to provide a glass capable of transforming x-ray emission into visual-range emission while simultaneously preserving luminescent glass transparency region. Such effect is achieved with glass containing, wt %: SiO2 37.67-40.17, B2O3 34.08-34.59, Al2O3 16.14-17.14, Na2O 9.11-10.06; and also Tb4O7 in amount 10% above 100% and GdO on quantity 50% of the content of terbium oxide.
EFFECT: achieved x-rays-to-visual rays transformation.
