FIELD: high-frequency and microwave engineering; signal phase control in antenna arrays and data transfer systems.
SUBSTANCE: proposed controlled phase shifter has insulating substrate carrying metal strip conductors on one surface and solid transfer-line shielding conductor, on other surface. Strip conductors are connected on one end through varactors to shielding conductor and are electromagnetically intercoupled. Device input and output are connected to extreme strip conductors. Signal phase is adjusted by varying varactor capacitance. Controlled phase shift is higher the higher the loaded Q-factor and the greater the passband width.
EFFECT: minimized size and mass of device.
