METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF THE MILLED GASEOUS BRIMSTONE Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC C01B17/10

Abstract RU 2298525 C2

FIELD: chemical industry; pharmaceutical industry; tire industry; technical rubber industry; other industries; methods of production of the milled gaseous brimstone.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the methods of production of the milled gaseous brimstone and may be used in chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries. The substance of the method consists in the preliminary melting and heating of the liquid brimstone up to the temperature of 140-145°С in the reactor having the stirring device. Then the brimstone is mixed with the ammonium carbonate in the amount of 150-250 g per one ton of the brimstone within 30-40 minutes. After that the brimstone is cooled to the temperature of 120°С and fed for the crystallization to the drum-type crystallizer for production of the flaked brimstone with the size of the granules of 0.5-1.0 mm in the cross-section, which is then cooled in the open air within 6-8 hours. The cooled flaked brimstone is fed into the mill and conduct milling in the flow of the nitrogen-air mixture previously cooled in the refrigeration installation. The mode of operation of the refrigeration installation is maintained in view of provision in an area of the milling of the temperature of 5-10°С. After the milling the milled brimstone is additionally mixed in the screw mixer with feeding the oil in quantity of 2-8 % to the mass that prevents the milled brimstone packing at its storing. The method ensures production of the high-quality oil-filled milled brimstone suitable for application as the curing agent in the tire industry and the technical rubber industry.

EFFECT: the invention ensures production of the high-quality oil-filled milled brimstone suitable for usage as the curing agent in the tire industry and the technical rubber industry.
