FIELD: agricultural engineering.

SUBSTANCE: plant top cutting machine has cutter bar and plant forming devices positioned below cutter bar and made in the form of wheels equipped with synchronous drive and positioned for rotation in opposite directions. Each of said wheels is mounted on shaft inclined toward other plant forming device and is adapted for moving along the latter. Each of said wheels is connected with shaft through spring which encloses this wheel. One end of spring is fixed on wheel hub and other end is secured on shaft.

EFFECT: reduced damage to plants and enhanced reliability in operation.
