FIELD: polymer production and polymer materials.
SUBSTANCE: high-molecular weight crosslinked polyvinylbutyral is prepared via crosslinking, at 20 to 280°C, of polyvinylbutyral containing co-acetalized acido-functionalized aldehyde, namely glyoxylic acid, content of acido-functionalized acetal units being within a range of 0.01 to 10.0% based on the total mass of polymer being subjected to crosslinking. Invention further relates to a method for preparing indicated polyvinylbutyral through thermal crosslinking of vinylbutyral at 80 to 280°C and, if necessary, along with at least one plasticizer. Finally, invention relates to products comprising polyvinylbutyral, such as a molded article, coating, or film, which may be used in manufacture of triplexes.
EFFECT: enabled preparation of polyvinylbutyral without need of adding separate crosslinking agents, reduced melt flowability index of films containing polyvinylbutyral of invention, and increased resistance to solvents of coatings.
