FIELD: quantum cryptography, in particular, methods and devices for encoding and transferring cryptographic keys.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for encoding cryptographic keys, on transferring station sequences of single-photon states are created in given time intervals, transformed to a sequence of non-orthogonal single-photon states and transferred through a quantum communication channel to receiving station, where non-orthogonal single-photon states are detected in given time intervals by means of interferometric transformations.

EFFECT: ensured long term stability of transfer, decreased flow of errors in transferred primary cryptographic keys.
