FIELD: quantum cryptography; information protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information protection implemented on a photonic integrated circuit. The device for generating quantum states for quantum communication systems with assessment of the quality of preparing states for quantum key generation protocols on a chip contains a semiconductor laser, an amplitude modulator made in the form of a symmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometer and consisting of a disconnector, a combiner and two phase modulators, narrowband and broadband, additional disconnector installed after the amplitude modulator combiner before the broadband phase modulator, wideband phase modulator, adjustable optical attenuator installed after the broadband phase modulator and made in the form of a disconnector, two narrowband phase modulators and an X-shaped coupler, single-ended Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a delay line in the long arm, a splitter for outputting the optical signal into the quantum channel, and a narrowband phase modulator in the short arm. The arms of an asymmetrical Mach-Zehnder interferometer are connected in a splitter, the beams from which are directed to photodetectors, an additional adjustable optical attenuator installed before entering the quantum channel and made in the form of a splitter, two narrow-band amplitude modulators and a combiner. The semiconductor laser operates in continuous mode.
EFFECT: increase in the stability of a quantum telecommunication system to errors caused by temperature, vibration and other changes in the system, and ability to assess the quality of preparing states for quantum key distribution protocols with phase, phase-time encoding and with trap states.
