FIELD: galvanic electrodeposition of metals and compensation for concentration of metal.
SUBSTANCE: proposed self-regulating method includes compensation for concentration of metal and restoration of acidity of acid electrolyte escaping from electrodeposition cell where metal is deposited on conducting negatively polarized matrix at simultaneous forming of oxygen and acidity on positively polarized insoluble anode. Concentration is carried out in concentration cell containing anode section and cathode section separated by cation-exchange membrane. Anode section has soluble anode made from metal to be deposited and cathode section has cathode made from corrosion-resistant material. Electrodeposition and concentration cells are hydraulically interconnected. Acid electrolyte containing metal to be deposited is recirculated from anode section of concentration cell to electrodeposition cell. Ratio of concentration current to electrodeposition current is just magnitude reverse to current efficiency of concentration cell expressed in form of hydrogen transference number.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure; reduced consumption of materials.
