FIELD: saw-milling, in particular, equipment for determining thickness of lumber in flexible automatic sawmill lines.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has movable measuring members, each being pressed to lumber side surface, linear movement sensor, and registering instrument. Movable measuring members are made in the form of round disks constantly pressed to material under control by means of device including thread running around pulley attached to frame of bearing unit of first disk. One end of thread is fixed to frame of bearing unit of second disk and other end is connected to load.
EFFECT: increased precision and enhanced automatic feature of lumber measurement process.
