FIELD: rock-cutting tool, particularly crown bits for expendable well drilling.
SUBSTANCE: drilling crown comprises body and diamondiferous matrix fastened to the body and divided into several sectors with grooves. The sectors are reinforced with wear-resistant cylindrical inserts made of synthetic diamonds having different diameters. The inserts are arranged in central part of each sector along a circle having predetermined diameter. Insert diameters decrease in peripheral direction.
EFFECT: decreased power inputs for rock cutting during the whole tool operation life, increased efficiency of mud removal from zone to be treated and, as a result, improved rock-cutting ability along with penetration speed increase.
