FIELD: heat engineering, possible use for heating water of heating networks or water of hot water supply networks and the like by means of steam, due to direct contact of water and steam.

SUBSTANCE: invention includes parallel supplying of source water to two steps of apparatus with following feeding of water heated in first step into second step and mixing of flows of heated and source water. Device or contact heating of water by steam contains body in form of ring with tangential branch pipe or several branch pipe for supply water to be heated, upper end lid, on which steam influx branch pipe is mounted, lower end lid or a cone, branch pipe for draining heated water, connected to the center of lower lid or to lower part of the cone. Branch pipe for draining heated water is connected to second step apparatus, which contains the body in form of ring with tangential branch pipes for supplying water to be heated and draining heated water, upper and lower end lids, branch pipe in the center of upper lid, while the branch pipe for draining heated water from first apparatus is connected to the branch pipe which is mounted on central part of end lid of second apparatus, while supplying tangential branch pipes for source water of both apparatuses are connected to supplying pipeline for source water.

EFFECT: possible heating of water without hydraulic shock due to its direct contact with steam in broad range of water flow and its heating degree.
