FIELD: power engineering; insulating hardware for overhead power transmission lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed ear is essentially cylindrical body with two flat end surfaces and one lateral vertical plane beveled on its ends. Surfaces bear identical seats 5, 6 of hinged spherical joints which are mirror images of one another. Seats 5, 6 are of standard size and receive suspension insulator pins 7, 10. Newly introduced are also spring-loaded locks 9, 12. Ear can be provided with barrier 13 between seats 5, 6 or such barrier may be dispensed with in which case one spring-loaded lock 14 is used. Clearances B between locks 9, 12 and pins 7, 10 measure about 1.5 to 3 mm.
EFFECT: reduced labor consumption, enhanced degree of unification, enlarged range of insulator and hardware breaking loads.
