FIELD: rocketry and space engineering; fields where quick remote separation of structural members (rocket stages, pipe line sections) is required.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device has body secured on member to be separated and provided with circular elongated shaped charge and electric detonator. Mounted on ends of elongated shaped charge are protective caps whose bottoms are beveled forming wedge-shaped clearance in between them. Wedge base is directed to structural member to be separated in plane of separation. Electric detonator is diametrically opposite to caps coaxially with wedge. During operation of device, cumulative jets from circular charge and from wedge of caps are directed to structural member to be separated. Simultaneous action of two cumulative jets on this member ensures complete cutting of it over separation plane.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of separation of structural members; avoidance of damage to surrounding devices carried on board spacecraft.
