FIELD: rolled stock production, namely manufacture of straight seam welded tubes.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of shaping tube blank in stands with open gages and reducing it in stands with closed gages; welding edges of tube blank. Elongation value is tuned in closed gages according to given relation: μ = 1/(1 - A x e-BP) where P - mean perimeter of ready tube, mm; A - factor equal to 0.00885 - 0.00933; B - coefficient equal to 0.00139- 0.00161.
EFFECT: lowered degree of occurring flaws such as corrugations and edge shifting at shaping tube, simplified adjustment and monitoring of shaping and welding processes of tubes, enhanced operational stability of aggregate, less loss of yield.
