FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: sprinkler unit is used at mechanical draft tower and chimney-type cooling tower. Sprinkler unit has parallel or crossing rows of grid touching parts, disposed at least at end parts of pipe made of polymer thermoplastic material, which parts are disposed in any row in such a manner that edges of pipes are disposed at the same plane in form of touching and isolated parts, which parts form grid of smelted fibers by means of making welded joint. Grid has cross lateral section. Area of cross-section in plane of cross-section being parallel to axes of pipes is determined depending on area of cross-section of fibers. For isolated parts of pipes the area is found from relation of Sis=(2-5)Sf, where Sis is area of isolated parts of pipes and Sf is area of fibers., For touching parts of pipes the area is found from relation of St-(4-10)Sf, where St is area of touching parts of pipes. Relation of areas of cross-sections of touching and isolated parts of pipes is met approximately, which relation equals to 2. Cross lateral section of grid made by plane being parallel to axes of pipes, has rectangular shape; longer side of rectangle is disposed in plane of unit's edge. Cross-section of grid made by plane being parallel to axes of pipes has shape of rectangle, which has shorter side disposed at plane of unit's edge. Cross-section of grid made by plane being parallel to axes of pipes has shape of trapezoid, which has shorter base disposed at plane of unit's edge. Width of base depends on thickness of fiber: Wb=(0,7-1,5)δf, where Wb is width of shorter base and δf is thickness of fiber. Angle between sides of trapezoid belongs to 5°-120°.

EFFECT: improved rigidity and strength of edges to be welded; higher manufacturability of mounting of unit; improved quality of sprinkler unit under large scale production conditions.
