FIELD: the invention refers to electrical engineering and is designed for limitation of the levels of magnetic fields of a commercial frequency produced in the ambient space in public, administrative or living quarters with electrical single-phase reactors without a ferromagnetic core.

SUBSTANCE: the electromagnetic shield for the reactor without a ferromagnetic shield is fulfilled in the shape of a coil or several coils coaxially located above or under the winding of the reactor. One or several shorted coils of electromotive force are coaxially located on or inside the winding of the reactor and connected with bus-bars in series or in parallel with shielding coils or with groups of shielding coils so that at in series connection electromotive force induced in the coils of electromotive force and in the shielding coils would be directed in one direction and at parallel connection electromotive force induced in the coils of each parallel branch would have such direction at which the current in one or several or in all parallel branches would have maximum value.

EFFECT: limits the level of tension of magnetic field of the commercial frequency produced in ambient space with reactors without a ferromagnetic core to permissible levels.
