FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: process involves preliminarily obtaining polyimidates through polycondensation of bis-phenols with imidoyl chlorides based on mono- and dicarboxylic acids followed by Chapman rearrangement into phenyl-substituted aromatic polyamides, which rearrangement is carried out in diphenyl ether solution at 240°C for 3-4 h.
EFFECT: increased molecular mass of polymers and improved physicochemical characteristics thereof.
