FIELD: seismic research, possible use in oil industry for continuous depth and lateral control of position of drilling bit during drilling of wells with usage of signal, emitted by the bit, in process of drilling of vertical, directional and horizontal wells.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, in suggested method, seismic oscillations excited by the drilling bit during drilling are recorded by means of seismic antenna mounted on day surface. On basis of registration records of all pairs of points of seismic antenna, periodically by means of computation of coherence function, quasi-monochromatic frequencies, excited by rotation of drill and column on the face, are selected. At selected frequencies, time delays are determined between all pairs of recording points. Using selection in space were drilling bit is positioned, in the area, close to previous position of the bit, and speed of expansion of resilient waves, drilling bit position coordinates are determined in time during drilling of wells. Determining of drilling bit position coordinates is controlled by comparison of actual length of immersed column with integration length, computed for shaft trajectory received by aforementioned method, and, therefore, well drilling process is controlled in time.
