FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: double face seal comprises two unmovable friction rings that embrace the shaft and two spring-loaded movable friction rings mounted on the shaft between the unmovable friction rings. The movable rings are pressed to appropriate unmovable rings and have secondary flexible seal with respect to the shaft. The yoke is interposed between the friction rings and is locked against rotation with respect to the shaft by means of a spring-loaded pin set in the yoke. The output end of the pin is set in the groove made in the shaft. The secondary flexible seal is mounted in the movable friction ring provided with the pressing washer from the open face. The springs that pass through the openings in the yoke are interposed between the pressing washers. The yoke is provided with a carrier made of a plate and used for transmitting torque from the shaft to the movable friction rings. The ends of the carrier are set in the grooves in the movable friction rings for permitting the movable rings to move in the axial direction with respect to the shaft.
