FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: face seal comprises two unmovable friction rings that embrace the shaft and two movable rings that are mounted on the shaft between the unmovable rings, spring-loaded one with respect to the other, and sealed with respect to the shaft by means of a rubber collar. The face of the pressing washer that cooperates with the ring collar is made of two conical surfaces to define a projection. The face surface of the rubber collar cooperates with the pressing washer and is made of two conical surfaces to define a hollow. The angle between the generatrices of the conical surfaces in the cross-section of the pressing washer is larger than the angle between the generatrices of conical surfaces of the rubber collar. The other face of the pressing washer is provided with the ring recess. The springs arranged around the shaft abut against the recess.
EFFECT: simplified design.
