SUBSTANCE: proposed tubular muffler contains cylindrical housing rigidly connected with end face intake and exhaust branch pipes, sound absorber located between cylindrical housing and perforated member, and acoustically transparent material arranged between perforated member and sound absorber ratio of length L of muffler to diameter D of cylindrical housing lies with in range of optimum values l/D=0.6-3.1; ratio of length L of muffler to inner diameter d of branch pipes lies within range of optimum values l/d=0.96-7.84; ratio of lengths b of intake and exhaust branch pipes to length of muffler L lies within range of optimum values b/L=0,051-0.104.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of noise silencing.
