FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed shell-and-tube heat exchanger contains distributing chamber with cover connected with shell, heat exchanger tubes connected by partitions with segment cutouts, and unions for tube and inter-tube spaces. Distributing chamber is divided by partition, and from side opposite to distributing chamber floating head is arranged in shell cover. Ratio of outer diameter of shell to length of heat exchange tubes in proposed device is 0.14-0.26; ratio of diameter of heat exchanger tubes to outer diameter of shell is 0.02-0.14; total number of heat exchange tubes is within 13 and 1701; surface of heat exchange at length of heat exchange tubes lying within 1 and 9 m is within 1.0-961 sq. m: area of flow section in segment cutouts of partitions is within 30 and 1620 sq.m: area of flow section between partitions is within 50 and 1870 sq. m: area of section of one pass of heat exchange tubes is within 40 and 3750 sq.m; ratios of outer diameter Do of shell to diameters of nominal bores of unions for tube and inter-tube spaces are equal, lying within 1.9-4.0.
