FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for melting of vanadium-containing steel. Method involves melting of metal charge, refinement of smelt and addition of vanadium-containing materials, reducing agent and cryolite to its in the following their ratio = 1:(0.3-0.4):(0.008-0.013), respectively. Reducing agent is chosen from the following order: Al, Si, Mg, Ca. Invention provides enhancing flowability of lime-alumina component of vanadium-containing materials to be added that results to enhancing reduction of vanadium and provides the enhanced quality of direct alloying steel.
EFFECT: improved melting method.
