FIELD: agricultural engineering.

SUBSTANCE: potato digger has walk-behind tractor comprising digging device, passive and active separating devices. Rods of passive separating device define in cross-vertical plane portion inclined to the left and to the right from center. Distance between rods is increasing toward second end. Active separating device has lifters equal in size and arranged centrally of gaps between rods. In upper position of lifters, their ends are arranged above rods between rods by value less than half the digging depth.

EFFECT: minimized damage to tubers, reduced consumption of power and enhanced reliability in operation of potato digger.
