FIELD: machine engineering, namely apparatuses for drilling articles of non-metallic materials, semi-precious stones, for example amber balls.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes platform having main motion drive unit and joined with movable carriage of feeding mechanism with possibility of setting motion for regulating position of tool axis in direction normal relative to axes of clamping members. Clamping mechanism is in the form of symmetrical system of tongs type levers providing possibility for regulating position of blank axis in direction of axes of clamping members. Blank is rotated by means of crank-connecting rod mechanism and its rotation angle is accurately fixed. In limit positions mechanism may be closed by action of force.
EFFECT: lowered number of rejected articles due to improved accuracy of drilling, enhanced labor conditions for operators.
