FIELD: power engineering; switchgear for electrical energy transmission and distribution.
SUBSTANCE: proposed outdoor 500-kV switchgear installation using solid bus system is assembled of cubicles; solid bus system is made of aluminum tubes both on switchgear top tier for interconnecting its cubicles and on bottom tier for interconnecting pieces of equipment installed within cubicle; top and bottom tiers of bus system are interconnected by means of flexible current-carrying conductors; passed through bus system tubes is damping wire; mentioned tubes are made of group Al-MG-Si alloy, maximum 250 mm in diameter, tube wall thickness is maximum 8 mm; solid bus system span length corresponds to cubicle pitch which is not over 18 m; both ends of bus system tube are loosely mounted on support insulators for their longitudinal movement relative to end surfaces of support insulators; two bus system tubes running to support insulators are mounted in a space relation to their end surfaces and are electrically interconnected by means of flexible current-carrying conductor.
EFFECT: reduced size, enhanced reliability of outdoor switchgear installation.
