METHOD FOR DETECTING THE RISK GROUPS OF HEMODYNAMIC INSTABILITY AT SPINAL ANESTHESIA Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B5/402 

FIELD: medicine, vascular diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: before carrying out spinal anesthesia in a horizontally lying patient at the state of rest it is necessary to record 300 R-R intervals of ECG at calculating the index of tension (IT) in conditional units. Then one should fulfill infusion of 200 ml physiological solution for 10 min into the catheter introduced in peripheral vein. Then, due to continuing the infusion it is necessary to carry out repeated record of 300 R-R intervals of ECG to evaluate IT value. At the increase of IT value by 50% and more a patient should be referred to the risk group of hemodynamic instability at carrying out spinal anesthesia. The declared method enables to predict the development of hypotonicity to spinal anesthesia beforehand and, thus, fulfill adequate means of prophylaxis in due time and, also, requires no complicated medicinal equipment being useful in all patients.
