FIELD: manufacture of road building materials; highway and aerodrome engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed asphalt-concrete mix contains the following components, mass-%: crushed stone, 38-46; natural quartz sand, 40-45; highly-dispersed mineral powder, 8-10; bitumen binder, 5.2-6.0; expanded vermiculite sand, 0.3-0.4; the remainder being product of secondary processing of polypropylene fiber, 6 to 12 mm long and 18 mcm in diameter.
EFFECT: enhanced shear resistance, compressive strength and tensile strength at simultaneous reduction of water absorption.
