SUBSTANCE: method involves drilling exploratory holes, constructing hypsometric map from data obtained during exploration drilling; performing operating supplementary coal bed exploration; calculating and constructing three-dimensional coal bed sitting surface geometry with the use of obtained data; determining convex, concave and saddle-shaped areas from main surface geometry curvature marks; creating map of geometrical sym of main surface geometry curvatures used as surface geometry complexity criterion within mine field outlines; determining dangerous complexity criterion values Ko in earlier developed zones having different shapes; separating potentially dangerous zones characterized by geometrical sum of main coal bed sitting surface relied curvatures K≥Ko in points under study.

EFFECT: possibility to predict coal bed outburst hazard during geological and operating supplementary exploration, increased reliability of abnormal zone sitting, which results in increased coal mining efficiency and safety.
