FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: method of predicting the coal formation's outburst hazard, in which coal samples of a given volume of two fractions of different diameters, for example, 0.4-0.5 mm and 1.0-1.06 mm, the temperature of the formation is measured, under laboratory conditions, the activation energy of the gas outlet from coal is determined and the effective diffusion of the gas outflow from the coal mass is calculated. In calculations of effective diffusion, the forming energy resulting from the high-speed deformation of the coal massif and characterized by an equivalent temperature of coal is additionally taken into account. The level of activation energy decrease is determined, taking into account its dependence on the level of the shaping energy and calculating the critical value of the effective diffusion Dcr. After that, in the mine conditions, by means of technical means, the effective diffusion value Def section of the coal seam and compare it with the critical value of the calculated effective diffusion Dcr. If the relation Dcr./Def<1, then this area is classified as dangerous for coal and gas.

EFFECT: method allows to carry out current monitoring of the formation's outburst hazard in the mine environment and ensures the safety of conducting preparatory work.
